Club DM–new live music venue in Gangnam.

Saturday night i was pleasantly surprised to find a new live music spot in Gangnam.  My buddy Adam (the 40 Days) told me that he was playing a gig there and i had to check it out. Upon entering, i was blown away–i hadn’t seen a place like this anywhere in Seoul. 

If you want directions: it’s located on the exit 7 side of Gangnam’s main strip.  That’s  just past McDonalds, next to the ArtBox.  You’ll see a sign outside saying something about Live Music and Whiskey. It also has the club’s full name: Diet Market.  Whoever thought of that name and whatever that might imply are certainly beyond me. 

The club has two main areas–a big open room with bar and chairs and tables on a mezzanine.  There is also a VIP style room off the right-side of the stage. They have the ability to open up the VIP area and they did so during the live performances.  The interior is basic yet very chic–everything you would want in a live music venue.  

But above all, the main focus of the place is on it’s killer stage. My buddy Adam mentioned that this is probably the best stage with the best sound system they have played on.   Which means they probably invested quite a few hundred thousand dollars getting everything set up for business.

Heineken, Guinness, and Cass on tap.  Various bottles available too.  They have quite a few whiskeys on the menu for the high rollers out there.

Judging by the crowd at Saturday night’s: 40 Days, We Need Surgery, and Vadim and the New Regime concert, Club DM will be the new hotspot in Gangnam for live music. I know i will definately be spending more than a few weekends there.
