I have the Grimont Cabernet from the February case. I recommend decanting this one for a good long while before drinking it. When I first tasted it I was rather underwhelmed, but I left it open for a while then put the cork back in and tried it the next day and it was much better. The Grimont Chardonnay was pretty darned good chilled and straight out of the bottle though.
Hi Steve! Thanks for the invitation for this Tuesday. I hope you have a long spout, I am in Canada until after Valentine’s. Before Christmas I happened upon some great discounts on Casillero del Diablo beer sized bottles which fit in six packs.
What do you recommend of similar quality?
We’ll make sure you get the invite for the next one Daniel
Enjoy your time in Canada.
Personally, I didn’t like Casillero del Diablo that much when I tried it, Honestly, it seems pretty tough finding quality wine in Korea for less than 15-20,000 won. I’ve had mixed results buying wine at Costco, but you might take a shot and try picking something up there some time. It will definitely be cheaper but it’s hard to say what’s going to be a truly good deal and what is overpriced.
But on the other hand, even a not-so-great wine is still wine, right? hehe… which reminds me I have a Chenin Blanc chilling in the fridge I wanted to try before bed tonight. I’d better get a move on!
