Overstone
Classically Marlborough in character, this wine has ripe nectarine, gooseberry and passion fruit aromas. It is a rich, mouth-filling style with lots of up front fruit and a long, clean finish. Best served lightly chilled with white meats and most types of seafood from oysters to crayfish. Harvested very ripe, the grapes are then crushed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The finished wine sits on gross lees with regular mixing for 2 months post ferment to develop texture and complexity on the palate.
Australian Cuvee - Golden Grape- Shiraz-Cabernet (Red, Australia, 32.000, 20.800)golden-grape-shiraz-cab.jpg
This Shiraz-Cabernet flourishes in South-East Australia extremely well. It is a Cuvée out of Shiraz—which is still the most important grape type according to acreage—and of Cabernet Sauvignon. A felicitous Cuvée made out of Shiraz, which is responsible for the spicy and peppery scent and Cabernet, which brings the body and the lasting structure to the wine. The nose is beguiled by fine flavors such as ripe blackberries combined with a whiff of chocolate and just a hint of pepper. The expressive character is affected by fine, structure giving tannins and a velvety full body. The ideal complement to strong meat dishes such as chili or spicy meatballs.
Overstone Hawkes Bay Pinot Noir (Red, New Zealand, 34.000, 22.100) overstone-pn-06.jpg
The Overstone vineyards produce super premium New Zealand wines, with ripe flavor-filled grapes sourced from carefully selected alluvial gravel vineyard sites on New Zealand’s East Coast. Warm, sheltered sites are selected for Merlot and Cabernet Franc, while cooler sites provide ideal flavor development in Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Reflecting this care and attention in the vineyard, Overstone wines are hand-crafted by a team of experienced Winemakers to produce rich, soft and approachable wines of exceptional quality. This Overstone Pinot Noir has typical red berry and cherry aromas which follow through to the palate where ripe berry fruit flavors are supported by soft tannins. This is a great food wine, designed for early drinking but capable of cellaring for 2-4 years.
