More on The Gap

I emailed The Gap yesterday to inquire about whether the Seoul locations will have big sizes.
I received a response today:
Thank you for your e-mail and for your interest in Gap. Please know
that sizes carried will be determined by the franchises, and like in the
States, will be based on demand. Certainly, since we produce a wide
range of sizes, larger sizes will be available; whether or no the
particular franchises will stock them, we cannot confirm. We hope this
information has been helpful.

A polite and mildly informative response. I will go there when it opens and scout it out. It doesn’t sound too good though.
The Gap & Banana Republic in Seoul 8-24!

It appears that Shinsegae International, the fashion retail unit of Shinsegae Co, has signed franchise agreements. with Gap Inc. to introduce the Gap and Banana Republic into Korea.
It appears that the launch date for the brands is August 24.
Seoulsteves.com insider, Lee, tells us that the Gap will be located at the Gangnam & Downtown branches of Shinsegae with an additional freestanding store somewhere in Myeongdong. Banana Republic will be featured in the Downtown branch of Shinsegae, with an additional store in Apgujang (perhaps near Rodeo Street?)
Have no fear that Seoulsteves will follow this story as it continues to break.
